Make a Reindeer Christmas Card

This reindeer Christmas card is a toddlers’ handcraft idea, and a fun activity to do with your little one.

You will need

• An adult to help you
• White cards – folded in half (as many cards as you would like to make for posting to family and friends)
• White paper (printer paper is perfect!)
• Brown craft paint
• Red craft paint
• Black craft paint
• Thin black pen
• Thick-ish craft paintbrush
• Thin craft paintbrush
• Scissors
• Paper glue

Your Christmas Card Idea

Have your white paper ready

Your adult helper paints your hand with the brown paint

Open your fingers slightly, but your thumb very wide (This can be quite tricky!)

Press your hand onto the white paper, making a brown handprint. Make one handprint for each card you want to make.

Leave your handprints to dry. Your fingers are going to be the reindeer’s feet, and your thumb is going to be the reindeer’s head.

Once the paint is dry, use the brown paint and the thin paintbrush to paint a stubby tail and two ears. Use the black paint and thin brush to paint the black hooves and an eye and the red paint to pop a round red nose on the end of the thumb print.

Once this is dry, cut around the prints

Glue the cut-out into the centre of each card

Lastly, use the thin black pen and add antlers to each reindeer

Don’t forget to write: “Handmade by ………..” on the back of your cards

Post your Christmas card to your family or special friends in plenty of time to get there before Christmas
