The Tamarisk Tree

Annelie is married and now retired and loving life in KwaZulu Natal. She is proud to be born, bred and schooled in South Africa. The Tamarisk Tree is a story that expresses so much of who she is. Her biggest blessing is their four children and four grandchildren (and increasing). Many dogs and a cat live with the family on a farm in the Natal Midlands.

Annalie started with a Medical Science degree (major in Anatomy) after she completed a degree in Dentistry. She practised her profession for twenty years.  But she was restless. The offspring left home. Her husband’s professional ladder was at his uppermost step. She focused her attention by getting a MSc in Dentistry from Stellenbosch Dental School at Tygerberg.

Travel is a passion that Annalie was lucky enough to combine with her obsession – Ancient Civilizations. This interest led to NDP (non-degree purpose) BA in Anthropology through UNISA.

Annalie is passion about books. She self-published here first book in 2015 – Forgotten Trails across the Midlands. Because fiction is a natural progression from research, Intombazane, Bessie’s story was published in 2019, so it has only just seen the light.

Reading, hiking and grandchildren fill the other gaps in her life.
