Celebrate Women 2021

We celebrate women because, on 9th August 1956, about 20,000 women marched to the Union Buildings in Pretoria. Their message was a protest against carrying a pass book.

These women were brave! They were strong! They were proud!

Freedom did not come for many years…but it did come.

For millions of girls and women around the world this is not the case. They face daily struggles of discrimination, abuse and have no rights to speak up.

On Friday 13th August 2021 we celebrated these women.

When we, as women, can come together to celebrate who we are, learn, grow and be inspired, we can support those who do not have a voice. We can guide those who don’t know what to do with their voice. And we can celebrate the energy and power that women create when they unite.
