What better to way to “Celebrate South Africa” than to help empower its future generations through education?
The SOS Africa Charity was founded by Frome resident Matt Crowcombe during his gap year to South Africa in 2003. Since then, with the help of its Frome and Shepton Mallet Charity Shops, local fundraising events and sponsors across the world, SOS Africa has empowered 44 children through the provision of a holistic education and care programme. This support has transformed their lives; the charity’s first child has recently graduated from High School and gained a university scholarship. This fantastic achievement has been made possible by the overwhelming support of Frome and Shepton Mallet residents.
Why not come and meet Matt, Claudia and the team at the “Celebrate South Africa” market on June 18th where they will be selling a wide range of African musical instruments and crafts to raise money for the SOS Africa Children. You can also drop in to see them at the SOS Africa Charity Shop, 23 Cheap Street, Frome to find out more about the charity and this exciting weekend of events.
